Diocesan Preparation for the Eucharistic Congress

The 50th International Eucharistic Congress will take place in Dublinin June 2012 and the theme for the Congress will be ‘The Eucharist: Communion with Christ and with One Another’. A four part preparation programme for parishes has been prepared by the national organising committee focusing on ‘Gathering’, ‘The Word’, ‘The Bread of Life’ and ‘Mission’. This programme has been adapted for use in this diocese by the Kilmore Diocesan Focus Group.

We will be presenting details of this preparation programme at two information nights on the 20th and 22nd of September. The first information night, Monday 20th, will be in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cavan and the second, Wednesday 22nd, will be in The Market House, Blacklion. Both nights will begin at 8pm and will last no more than an hour. All parishes are invited to send a delegation to one of these meetings including the priests and at least two representatives from the Parish Pastoral Councils and Liturgy Groups. Each parish delegation will be given time to discuss the programme and register their interest before the end of September. The Diocesan Focus Group would hope that at least six to eight parishes will agree to run with the programme over the next two years.

Priests are asked to return the reply slip sent to them in the post by September 17th at the latest.
